Regional economic development is part of the expanded mandate of the Regional Service Commissions, following local governance reform, in partnership with Opportunities New Brunswick and Work NB.

The Northwest Regional Service Commission collaborates with local governments, business stakeholders, and government agencies to:

• Provide strategic guidance for regional economic growth
• Support communities ready to welcome investment
• Foster a healthy business environment
• Support workforce development and growth, including the retention of newcomers

Regional Economic Development Committee (REDC)

The REDC brings together labor market stakeholders with shared interests regarding a strategic regional labor market issue or a challenge where they can have a greater impact collectively than individually. The REDC aims to develop a regional workforce growth strategy, including targets and measures to track the progress and impact of identified initiatives. This includes avoiding duplication, identifying regional needs, and maximizing regional efforts.

Noroît Business Directory – En-Groupe.ca

Since September 2025, the Northwest Regional Service Commission (CSRNO) has managed En-Groupe.ca, an online directory showcasing the businesses, organizations, and services operating throughout the region. This tool helps residents, visitors, investors, and business partners discover the organizations that contribute to the region’s economic vitality.

En-Groupe.ca also provides visibility for businesses that do not have a website or a strong online presence by bringing together their contact information, business activities, and key details about their products and services in one accessible location. The directory helps increase awareness of local businesses and supports economic connections throughout the region.

As part of its regional economic development mandate, CSRNO continues to enhance this platform so that it becomes a comprehensive showcase of the entire Noroît region. This initiative includes modernizing the directory’s image, expanding its content, and incorporating businesses from all municipalities and communities across the region. The goal is to provide a more complete picture of the regional economy while highlighting the diversity, strength, and dynamism of businesses throughout Noroît.
