What to do with expired prescription drugs?
Avoid disposing of expired prescription drugs in a garbage bin, a sink or toilet!
Several drugstores take back expired prescription drugs, as well as used needles. Ask your pharmacist if they offer this service and if they do, don’t hesitate to use it. If not, please bring your prescription drugs to the next household hazardous waste (HHW) round-up day nearest you. For more information, consult the Hazardous Waste section. Please note that the Solid Waste Service does NOT accept used needles (syringes) during these HHW round-up days.
